This year, the Lancaster is hosting works by artist Bruno Mallart. A French illustrator of Spanish origin, born in 1963 in Paris, his style is rooted in contemporary art. To mark the hotel’s centenary, Bruno Mallart has also created an original drawing specially designed to celebrate the establishment’s 100th anniversary, highlighting its iconic façade.
This summer, the Lancaster welcomes several masterpieces by renowned artist Christophe Charbonnel. The French sculptor is well-known for his bronze creations inspired by ancient statuary. In line with the realist movement of the late 19th century, Christophe Charbonnel gives admirable expression to the body, producing highly expressive works.

Félix Ziem, born February 25th, 1821 in Beaune and died November 10th, 1911 in Paris, was a French painter of the “Barbizon School” renowned for his seascapes and landscapes of Venice and Constantinople. Attached to the orientalist movement, he is considered one of the precursors of Impressionism.

Ordered in October, delivered in November 1926, as you see on the photograph taken from the digitized archives of House Erard, the piano still sits nowadays in the Marlene Dietrich suite. During her stay, the German actress often took the advantage of the piano. We cherish the legacy of Mr. Wolf, the Swiss hotelier who transformed the private home into a hotel. At the end of his career, Mr. Wolf liked to say that he had no customers but only friends.
